Visa and MasterCard are the largest global card network in the world in terms of transaction value, and the dominant payment method in all key global markets outside China.
Accepted in more than 130 countries, with over 100 million cards in use, American Express (Amex), is a key method used to reach high-value shoppers globally. Amex cardholders spend on average three to four times as much as Visa and Mastercard cardholders, making it of particular interest to premium and high-end brands.
With more than 30 issuers and more than 70 million cardholders in North America, Discover is a major card scheme in the US market, and has one of the highest acceptance rates among the top 100 US retailers.
JCB is the leading domestic issuer and acquirer in Japan, used by more than 90 million cardholders and accepted at 30 million locations globally. Most cardholders originate from APAC, especially Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan. Cards are now issued in 19 territories, including EMEA markets such as Germany, Russia, Austria and Spain, with additional countries to follow.
China UnionPay International (UPI) is the only interbank network in Mainland China, East and Southeast Asia, and the biggest card scheme globally by number of cards.
Alipay is the most widely used third-party online payments service provider in China, with over 100 million daily transactions and over 520 million active users. Its primary product is a digital wallet, Alipay Wallet, which also includes a mobile app that allows customers to conduct transactions directly from their mobile devices.

Grabpay, which is owned by Grab, the largest ridesharing company in Asia, is launching a new GrabPay Mastercard which will enable Singapore users to use their GrabPay balance across Southeast Asia.
